Tidal Vision was founded in Alaska in 2015 to invent valuable and environmentally-safe solutions for the 2 billions of pounds of fishery waste Alaska produces annually.
Tidal Vision has invented 2 patent pending methods for processing ocean byproducts into aquatic leathers and Chitoskin™, with applications in the textiles, consumer goods and other industries.
Beyond textiles and consumer goods, Tidal Vision’s products also have environmental remediation and reclamation possibilities that will be most applicable to cleaning up the world mining industry. These solutions could be ready for market as early as next year.
Tidal Vision is launching their introductory line of aquatic leather products, Alaska salmon leather wallets, on Kickstarter on May 27th. Kickstarter backers will be the first to have access to Tidal Vision’s aquatic leather and products, and they will be offered at a discounted rate for the pre-orders.
Our proprietary aquatic leather tanning formula uses all FDA food-grade vegetable based tanning oils.
Tidal Vision plans on using its aquatic leather formula, and chitin processing technology, to add value to fisheries harvesting sustainably or targeting invasive species.
Our Chitoskin™ textile and products are made with our chitosan from sustainably harvested Alaska crab shells. Chitosan inhibits bacteria growth and eliminates odor, it is completely biocompatible and anallergenic (even for those with shell fish allergies).
Our patent pending method of extracting chitin and chitosan from crab shells uses no environment threatening chemicals like Hydrochloric Acid or Sodium Hydroxide, an industry revolution.
